What Clients
Are Saying
Every project is a partnership. Here's what clients across motorsport, manufacturing, and custom fabrication have to say about working with Flego Design.
I've had the opportunity to work with Roland for over 20 years, and I can say without hesitation that his work is truly world class. In our business, the quality of a casting design makes all the difference — not just in the final product, but in how smoothly everything comes together from tooling through production. Roland understands that at a level that's rare.
We've worked on everything from cylinder heads and engine blocks to intake manifolds and racing wheels for nostalgic race cars, and his designs consistently stand out. I've seen work from major OEMs like GM, Ford, and Chrysler, and Roland's designs hold their own with the best of them.
What sets him apart is not just technical ability, but real-world understanding of sand casting. Too often you see designs that look good on paper but don't translate well into manufacturing. That's never been the case with Roland — his work makes the entire process better. On top of that, he's just a great person to work with. He's straightforward, trustworthy, and genuinely cares about the outcome.
I worked with Roland Flego at our company for over twenty years. Following my retirement in 2021, he continues to provide design services to V&B as a consultant. V&B provides engineering services to the owners of high-end vintage exotic race cars for international competition. Our core product is racing engines, though we also work on any part of the car related to power generation and transmission, including gears, exhaust, induction, wheels, lubrication, fueling, cooling, wiring, clutch and starter. Our secret weapon is our ability to release industry standard (ANSI) design packages to outside vendors to allow our small company to handle big projects quickly. Roland has been an integral part of that effort.
He has creative design ideas and superior ability to "see" things in 3D. He combines mastery of SolidWorks CAD with a broad range of knowledge and skills. In addition to a designer, Roland is an engine builder, a welder, CNC machine operator and a skilled general mechanic. Finally, he has integrity and a good work ethic.
I'm reminded of a lubrication loss engine failure at the Goodwood Revival in England some years ago. The engine was a four-cam Maserati V8. Roland and I overhauled it overnight, installing parts carried over the Atlantic in suitcases. Sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep! I give Roland my highest recommendation.
